Program Details

US

  • We offer internships in NY, NJ, FL, CA, CT and Washington, D.C.
  • We have two intern cohorts:
    • Summer: Full-time, June - August (3 months)
    • Academic Year: Part-time, September - April (8 months)

International

  • We offer internships in London, Belfast, and Singapore
  • Types of Internships and Timing
    • Singapore
      • We offer University Internships and Polytech Internships
      • Polytech Cycle: February - July and July - February
      • University Cycle: January - June, June - December
    • UK: London and Belfast
      • Our UK programs are yearly programs that run July - July

Requirements and Benefits

US

  • Basic Requirements:
    • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program OR have a graduation date in Spring 2026. Applicants who graduated in 2025 or earlier are not eligible for our internship program.
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
    • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from VERSANT now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
    • For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without sponsorship from VERSANT.
    • VERSANT is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
  • Desired Characteristics:
    • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Strong interest in the media industry
    • Previous internship experience and on-campus involvement
  • Format (hybrid/remote/in-person)
    • Cohorts vary from in-person to hybrid, with some fully remote opportunities depending on business needs.
  • Compensation & Benefits
    • All US interns are paid.

International

  • Basic Requirements
    • Students currently enrolled or recently graduated, depending on the program. Eligibility requirements will be specifically highlighted in the job description in the posting for the opportunity and will vary by role.
    • Work authorization / visa support
      • You would need to have the right to work in the country of the internship for the duration of the program.
  • Format (Hybrid/Remote/In-Person)
    • Hybrid or on-site, depending on the role.
    • Some of our internships require early shift working to cover the news cycle, but this varies depending on role and will be listed in the job posting.
  • Compensation & Benefits
    • All International interns are paid.

  • “When do applications open?”
    • For International, generally applications open 2-3 months before the Internship start
    • For International, our year long programs in the UK, applications open 5-6 months ahead of the Internship start
  • “Can I apply to multiple roles?”
    • Yes, you can apply to multiple roles in the US and Internationally
  • “What’s the interview process?”
    • It will be a combination of onsite or virtual interviews dependent on the business
  • “Is this internship paid?”
    • Yes, all internships are paid in the US and Internationally
  • “Can I apply if I’m graduating this year?”
    • For Summer 2026 internships in the US, you must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program OR have a graduation date in Spring 2026
    • In International, some of our programs allow for recent graduates. The qualifications will be listed on the job description and will vary based on the role
  • “Do you sponsor visas? Can I apply outside my home country?”
    • We do not offer sponsorship and you will need to have the right to work in the country you are applying for the duration of internship
  • “When can I expect to hear back on the decision?”
    • For the US, our response time varies, but you will be notified within a month of your anticipated start date
    • For International, our response time varies, but you will be notified within 1-2 months of application maximum
